Poll: Who should make the bullpen?
Two days remain here in camp, and really only one major decision: what to do with the one remaining bullpen vacancy? The Mets have six givens in their bullpen: Francisco Rodriguez, Bobby Parnell, D.J. Carrasco, Taylor Buchholz, Tim Byrdak and Pedro Beato. Who would you like to see fill the final spot?

Izzy should make the team if for no other reason than his experience in the NL and his years of getting guys out should take precedence. If he gets hurt again, he’ll retire anyway. We need that presence in the bulllpen. Give it to Izzy!

I feel the Mets should send Beato back and put both Boyer and Izzy on the team. Both have the experience and have had better numbers than Beato this spring. I know Beato just a kid, but the team could use solid guys like Boyer and Izzy
Izzy’s the popular pick and I wish they could keep both him and Boyer but there’s no guarantee Izzy will remain healthy. Whoever they don’t pick is likely to sign elsewhere given how they’ve produced this spring.
I WOULD LIKE TO IZZY BACK ON THE TEAM BUT I DO NOT THINK HE WILL LAST THE WHOLE SEASON AND THEN WHAT HAPPENS. PROBABLEY BEST THAT BEATO IS SENT BACK AND BOTH IZZY AND BOYER MAKE THE TEAM. THE TEAM WOULD BE MORE SOLID FOR 2011. SOMEONE LIKE BEATO WILL BE AVAILABLE A YEAR FROM NOW
Beato is a Rule 5 pick like Emaus. He has to make the major roster or be sent back to the team he was selected. His stuff is better than either Izzy’s or Boyer’s. I voted for Izzy over Boyer not only because of his experience but because he still can hit 92 on the gun(had nothing to do with him being a “heart pick”-it’s not like Izzy had a glorious career with the Mets to make fans get sentimental-it’s not Seaver or Mazzilli’s returning)
