My heart goes out to Shannon. On November 21st, it will be 20 years that I lost my only sister to breast cancer. I then became legal guardian to her only son, who was 10 years old at the time. She fought hard to overcome her battle but lost her fight after 4 years but she LIVED with cancer. Technology and medicine is now on Shannon’s side.

I am now disabled (8 years for various illnesses) and wish I could contribute but my dear nephew son was just killed by a drunk driver. I had to travel from upstate to Texas, where he was working, to his funeral. It was a financial burden. he left behind his 4 “brothers and sisters” that became a part of his life when he moved in with my family.

Life is not always fair. I would tell Shannon to read Bernie Siegel’s books as they are very inspiring. My sister listened to him speak down in Austin and got me to read his book, “Love, Medicine, and Miracles” and it really helped me cope with her illness.

God Bless Shannon and her family! I know what they are going through and I wish them the best! (((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

While I applaud the Met’s players and employees for their effort one has to wonder why the Mets, one of the wealthiest franchises in sports and the recipient of public money, don;’t have a health care plan that covers the medical treatment.

I wish Wilpon would sell the NY Mets to a person who loves baseball as much as I do, I would hope that this new owner would raise the Mets fans’ hopes for a better team, as well as showing compassion for the employees on the lower pay scale. A well rounded medical plan and a increase in pay would go a long way to instill a new era in the eyes of the fans and employees. Go Mets!

Why hit up the public? Hit up the RICH players.
