Mets 6, Phillies 1: Three Up, Three Down

You may be cold, but Jon Niese isn’t.

Three Up
1. Jon Niese: He has a knack for pitching well in poor conditions. Niese said he spent plenty of time by the heaters in the dugout between innings, jamming his hands in his jacket pockets.

2. Daniel Murphy: A nice three-hit night for Murphy, whose stolen base streak remains alive thanks to a beneficial scorer’s ruling.

3. Ruben Tejada: If Tejada hits even a little bit, it will be a boon for the offense. Right now, he’s hitting a little bit.

Three Down
1. Eric Young: A 1-for-5 atop the order dragged Young’s on-base percentage down to  .315, and he flat-out dropped a foul fly ball off Chase Utley’s bat in the seventh.

2. David Wright: One of the most bizarre aspects of April for the Mets is the fact that they are winning — and winning often — without much meaningful offensive contributions from Wright. He was 0-for-5 with a double play in Tuesday’s win.

3. Daisuke Matsuzaka: This is a tough “Down” considering Matsuzaka pitched a scoreless inning, but walking the leadoff man is not a good habit.

What do you make of Wright’s lack of production so far this year?

When are you going to give 6 down to the mets coaching staff. They loss the games in colorado and last night in miami. Are they untouchable o what. On more question did you ever play baseball?
