Granderson gives back over All-Star break

Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson and his Grand Kids Foundation hosted an All-Star Camp Wednesday at University of Illinois at Chicago’s recently-dedicated Curtis Granderson Stadium. The program featured a baseball clinic with including four interactive stations: hitting, throwing/pitching, infield and outfield; picnic lunch provide by the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Lunch Bus program; youth baseball tournament; and Grand Kids awards ceremony.


A graduate of UIC, Granderson recently contributed $5 million to the development of Curtis Granderson Stadium there, which will serve as the home of Flames Baseball and will host more than 38 youth organizations in Chicago.

Since May 1, Granderson is hitting .274 with 13 home runs and 36 RBI.
